One group.
A shared
identity.

Three directions for a shared identity, connecting the place where a project begins with the people and disciplines that bring it to life.

The group behind
the buildings.

TERRN belongs to the organisation that brings the disciplines together. It sits above individual developments, giving different expertise a shared identity while leaving each project room for its own name.

The place where
it all begins.

TERRN is a play on “terrain”: the place where everything starts. A site holds the possibilities that an idea, a plan and a building will develop. Understanding its contours, levels and surroundings is the first step. The name brings that starting point together with the group that carries it forward.

Topographic lines help us read a place before shaping its future. Their levels and movement connect that first understanding to the architecture that follows.

Before a building,
a line.

A contour on a map. A boundary on a site study. An axis or wall on a plan. The same simple line can describe a place and begin to shape it. That is the starting point for TERRN: a small number of elements, each with a purpose.

AXIS / RELATIONSHIP / SPACE

Separate elements.
A coherent whole.

The layers can suggest sea, land and sky; the levels of a building; or the phases of construction. They can also express the whole journey, from the first idea to completion and life within a place. Across that journey, different people, skill sets and group entities come together. The three lines give these relationships a shared form: distinct parts contributing to one whole.

From the first idea
to life inside.

The layers can be read through time as well as space: studying and designing a site, developing and constructing it, then bringing it into use. These phases connect the group’s disciplines. They give the identity a sense of progression without suggesting that every project follows an identical sequence.

Imagine & design

Geographical and site studies inform architecture, planning and the decisions that define a place.

Develop & build

Expertise, materials and coordination turn that intent into a built environment.

Sell, lease & occupy

A building becomes part of everyday life through the people and businesses who use it.

A little less rigid.
A little more human.

Contour lines bend as ground levels change. Buildings respond through stepped floors, curved balconies and routes through space. Softer movement connects these two readings: the geography of a site and the experience of its architecture. The question for the identity is what stays constant—and what can change.

The adaptive system

One framework. Different expressions.

A related family of marks, with a shared structure and room for variation.

Keep the frame.
Change the expression.

The upper and lower lines stay fixed while the middle line changes, suggesting different contours or levels within one framework. This gives the group a related family of symbols. The lead example uses the Living-style variation; the master symbol and the rules for its family remain decisions for refinement.

Group

A family offers flexibility and needs consistent usage rules. Design and Living are illustrative labels, not a final company register. The three straight lines are the supplied Group variant.

The continuous line

Structure with a softer edge.

Flowing upper lines and a stable base, held together as one identifier.

Flow above.
Stability below.

The upper lines draw on the flow of topographic contours and the changing levels of architecture. They can suggest ground profiles, balconies or façade rhythm, held by a stable base. In 2.2, smoother transitions connect these readings more continuously than the earlier angular study.

The architectural emblem

A complete architectural emblem.

A compact, contained symbol that stays consistent across the group.

Space within
a single silhouette.

A contained outline gathers contour-like layers into one compact mark. The negative space recalls the movement found in geographical studies, while the silhouette gives it architectural structure. One consistent emblem can connect the group, its divisions and its projects: different activities held within a shared whole.

The distinction is a family that changes versus a symbol that stays constant. All three directions can support division and project names.

One identity.
Many names.

A shared structure connects the family, while each division has its own expression. Here, the supplied Concept 1 marks sit directly beside their names: the same upper and lower lines, with a distinctive middle line for each part of the group.

The direction first.
Then its atmosphere.

Each identity can live in each palette. Colour changes the atmosphere of the system, not the reasoning behind the mark. Use the five palettes below to explore the presentation as a whole, then consider each palette on its own terms.

Black, Grey & White

Black, grey and white bring the relationships between line, space and proportion into focus. A pure monochrome option that gives each direction the same clear, restrained setting.

Three approaches.
One shared ambition.

Which direction should become the starting point for the group’s identity? Consider the character of the symbol and the way it would connect the organisation, its disciplines and its developments.

The adaptive system

A related family of marks, with a shared structure and room for variation.

The continuous line

Flowing upper lines and a stable base, held together as one identifier.

The architectural emblem

A compact, contained symbol that stays consistent across the group.

A direction chosen.
An identity refined.

The next step is to develop the chosen approach: the proportions of the symbol, the lettering, the colour and the rules that connect the group to its divisions and projects.
